Mike Shepard is a market driven financial and engineering executive who has developed strategic plans and built the infrastructure to accelerate revenue for early stage / high growth companies. Raised over $35M dollars in angel and venture capital, negotiated $15M in capital leases and $4M in convertible debt. Reviewed thousands of business plans, performed due diligence and made investment recommendations.

Mr. Shepard graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ball State University with a B.S. in Finance and subsequently earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.

Dr. Robert L. Bacallao is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Nephrology Division at Indiana University. His expertise is in the cell biology of renal epithelial cells and their changes in renal disease and advanced light microscopy methods. He has over sixty-five manuscripts published in peer-reviewed journals and has served on the Scientific Review Board for a number of kidney related foundations and the NIH. In addition to his research, he received the 2009 Trustees Award for Teaching Excellence at Indiana University. 

He was a co-founder and currently manages INPhoton which provides customized imaging solutions using cutting-edge quantitative technologies in microscopy to deliver cell-specific evaluation of drug distribution, efficacy and toxicity in vivo. In addition to INPhoton, he serves as the CSO and Founder of Kalium Biomedical which is developing a home diagnostic product, and like the Company, is an Indiana University IURTC Spin Up company.

Dr. Bacallao received his medical degree and internal medicine training at the University of Illinois (IL, USA) and nephrology training at University of California Los Angeles. His undergraduate education was in Engineering Science at Northwestern University. He trained in biochemistry in the laboratory of William Wickner at University of California Los Angeles and molecular cell biology at the European Molecular Biology Institute (Heidelberg, Germany) in Kai Simon’s laboratory.
